FAQ

How long has Pinnacle Prep been around?

Pinnacle Prep was founded nearly 10 years ago. David Gordon, our President, had been a senior tutor for another agency for a number of years prior. For years, David has studied the tests and analyzed his students’ performances, in constant pursuit of the optimal approach to the tests. Since its inception, Pinnacle Prep’s students have outperformed the industry standards, and their score increases continue to rise.

How many tutors do you have?

We presently have more than 30 dynamic tutors, each of whom has terrific qualifications, has successfully completed our extensive training program, and stays in close touch with the office regarding their students’ challenges and progress.

In the beginning, our sole tutor was David, but when his students did well, he was fortunate to receive many kind referrals from happy parents and students. Within a year, he was unable to add more students to his schedule, so he did what every other company does: he hired tutors to take on the students he couldn’t accommodate. But very soon, David decided that the students would be better served if he did just the first session with new students and assigned tutors to do the rest of the sessions, while staying in close touch with families by phone and email and providing lots of support, supervision and feedback to the tutors. By meeting new students, David was able to custom design personalized test taking plans for each of them. Just as importantly, he was able to get a sense of the students’ personalities and where they were academically, which allowed him to make a more informed selection of tutors, leading, of course, to our terrific tradition of “fitting” students with tutors who can motivate them to do their very best. The tradition of having a master tutor do the first session continues today.

Where do your sessions take place?

We come to your home! Sessions typically take place in students’ homes, but we will also come to a local library or school – wherever is most convenient for students.

What is your phone number?

800-665-PREP (7737).

Can you help us design a test plan and figure out what tests to take, and when?

Absolutely! Just give us a call (800-665-7737), and we’ll be happy to talk you through the options.

What are your rates?

Our rates are hourly. We don’t believe in having different rates for different tutors – we have an expectation that all of our tutors are great. We do, however, offer bundles of hours that will lower your rate – just call the office, and we will be happy to discuss the options with you.
